Red Fez Publications seeks poetry editor

Red Fez Publications seeks a volunteer to fill the role of poetry editor. The Poetry Editor will review poetry submissions, provide feedback to authors, and assist with uploading poetry to redfez.net.

August 28, 2010--Red Fez Publications is offering an exciting opportunity to volunteer with a growing, online publication. Red Fez seeks a poetry editor to review and recommend poetry submissions for publication in our quarterly, online literary publication, provide feedback to authors, upload selected poetry to the site for publication, and write introductions for issues.

About the Company
Red Fez Publications is an online literary journal featuring poetry and fiction. The website also includes audio and video poetry, essays, comics, regular columns, and illustrated fiction and poetry. Red Fez is headquartered out of Canada with editorial support in the United States of America and Canada. Red Fez is committed to bringing light to underground and under-recognized writers and publishing poetry and prose outside of the narrow, academic stream.

Specifications

* Editors can work from home;
* This is an unpaid Editorship;
* Editors must be able to meet deadlines; and
* Applicants must be 18 years or older.

Qualifications
The selection committee will consider the following criteria in considering applicants:
* Creativity;
* Critical Thinking;
* Communication, including interpersonal skills;
* Strong writing skills, including editing;
* Ability to meet strict deadlines;
* Experience editing a publication is desired, but not required;
* Experience drafting press releases is desired, but not required; and
* Familiarity with underground press/writing.
